Financial Literacy for the Music Industry is coming to Ottawa in early March!
CMI is bringing the Financial Literacy for the Music Industry professional development program to Ottawa! The purpose of this initiative is to fill a longstanding gap in practical, understandable, and accessible financial mentorship specific to the music industry.
The Financial Literacy for the Music Industry program is FREE and is open for up to 20 musicians and music industry professionals from the Ottawa region.
The two-day program will take place March 7 & 8, 2026, 10am - 4pm, at The Ottawa Art Gallery (50 Mackenzie King Bridge).
Applications are open until February 10th.
Limited spaces are available, so early applications are strongly encouraged! Apply now! Eligible participants must be 18 years of age or older, actively working in the music industry, and available for both days of the program. You will be contacted once applications close if you are chosen to be part of the program. Priority will be given to OMIC members.
Developed in collaboration with Sprackman Terrence, one of Canada’s leading entertainment business management and accounting firms, this program covers key topics such as business structures, foundational tax concepts, budgeting, industry-focused eligible business expenses, financial planning, risk management, royalties and more. All attendees will have access to ongoing mentorship from CMI post-program.
This initiative is made possible nationally by the generous support of RBC.
